Disjecta Contemporary Art Center builds ambitious programs that promote artists and engage communities.
Disjecta provides a catalytic platform for forward-thinking work by visual and performing artists. Dynamic programs showcase new ideas and engage new audiences while fueling collaborations between artists, curators, and viewers to impact and intervene in the larger contemporary arts dialogue. Disjecta exacts equal rigor from local and national artists, while recognizing and supporting the talent of the region.
For 15 years, Disjecta has produced innovative arts programming in Portland. Disjecta provides emerging and established artists, curators, and performers access to exhibition space where they can experiment and push the boundaries of their practice. Disjecta has hosted local, national and international talent such as the visual art of Andy Coolquitt, Peter Halley, Vlatka Horvat, and Chris Johanson; the music and performance of The Shins, Marina Rosenfeld, Wayne Horvitz and Crutchmaster; as well as Johanson’s annual “Quiet Music Festival.”
