Spring 2017 Visual Studies Lecture Series: Ralph Pugay

Upfor Gallery artist Ralph Pugay kicks off PNCA’s spring lecture program with an overview of his artistic practice. Motivated in part by anxiety in a world of uncertainty and absurdity, and informed by the culture of video games, Pugay's mind-bending scenarios provide comic relief while serving as allegorical puzzles for our time. Pugay holds an MFA in Contemporary Art Practice from Portland State University and is a residency graduate of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine.
