Lecture: John Yeon and the Museum

Join the Portland Art Museum for a lecture with Melinda McVay, Ph.D., Edith O’Donnell Institute of Art History, University of Texas, Dallas. In addition to the homes John Yeon designed that helped define regional modernism in the Pacific Northwest, he also created pristine, serene environments for museums in Portland, San Francisco, and Kansas City. Art historian Melinda McVay’s talk examines this lesser-known aspect of Yeon’s work, in particular his interpretation of Asian architectural settings for museum displays.
